App, PWA and push

People receive and answer notifications at app.notific.me, in English, Portuguese or Spanish. It is a web app that can be installed like an app (a PWA) on phones and computers, and it works with alerts even when closed. Native iOS and Android apps come next.

  1. Open app.notific.me and sign in.
  2. Tap Install on the invite that appears, or Install app in the menu (or the browser’s install icon in the address bar).
  3. Open notific.me from your home screen or app list.
  1. In My notifications, tap Turn on in “Get alerts on this device”.
  2. Allow notifications when the browser asks.
  3. In Devices, use Send test push to check that it works.

If you blocked notifications before, allow them again in the site settings of your browser.

How a notification reaches the personWhen the app is open, notifications arrive through the WebSocket gateway in milliseconds. When it is closed, the push relay sends a push through APNs (iOS), FCM (Android) or Web Push for the installed PWA, encrypted end to end. When the app opens again it syncs incrementally from a cursor.Notificationfor each recipientApp open?WebSocket gatewaytens of millisecondsPush relayusually 1–2 s,no guaranteeInbox updates liveapp · web · PWAAPNsiOS appFCMAndroid appWeb PushPWA · VAPID · encryptedOn open: sync from cursoryesno

  • Because Web Push is encrypted end to end, it shows the title and summary. Native pushes carry the minimum, and the app fetches the content.
  • Tapping a push opens the notification or the decision directly.
  • A subscription the push service reports as expired is removed from the device automatically.
  • Signing out removes the Web Push subscription of that device (shared computers).

Devices lists every phone and browser signed in to your account, with push status and last seen. You can rename a device or revoke it: it is signed out and stops receiving notifications immediately.

  • The inbox highlights what is waiting for your decision.
  • Each decision shows the card, the questions and the required level.
  • On the web app, levels 0 and 1 need only your session. Levels 2 and 3 need the 2FA code, and level 2 can use your 2FA window. Level 4 (quorum) needs the native app.
